„Wenn die Hände arbeiten ist der Kopf frei“ – daran glaube ich. In diesen schwierigen Zeiten der Isolation, der Unsicherheit und Ungewissheit ist ein Gefühl von Gemeinschaft wichtig.

Sicher habt auch ihr das Bedürfnis, eure Hände kreativ zu betätigen.
Deshalb möchte ich euch und alle die Interesse haben einladen, an diesem Projekt, dass ich bereits in Uruguay gestartet habe, mitzuwirken.

Als Grundlage benutzen wir ein Taschentuch, das als kleine Leinwand zu betrachten ist.
Es kann von der Oma, der Mutter, dem Partner oder das eigene sein. Wenn man keines hat, dann sucht man stellvertretend einen Stoff und schneidet ihn 30×30 cm für ein Damentaschentuch oder 35x35cm für ein Herrentaschentuch aus.

Die Gestaltung ist ganz individuell: Drucken, Sticken, Filzen, Schreiben, Applizieren, dreidimensionales bearbeiten.
Lasst eure Hände sprechen um Gefühle, Gedanken oder Wünsche in kleine textile Geschichten zu verwandeln.

”When you work with your hands, it sets the mind free.” I really believe that. In these difficult times of isolation, insecurity and uncertainty, the feeling of belonging to a community is important.

I’m sure you also all feel the need to work creatively with your hands, which is why I would like to invite you, and anyone else interested, to join the handkerchief project I started in Uruguay.

All you need is a handkerchief to start. Think of your handkerchief as a mini canvas. Your handkerchief can be from your grandmother, your mother, your partner or one of your own. If you don’t have a handkerchief, then cut out a piece of fabric 30×30 cm for a lady’s handkerchief or 35x35cm for a man’s handkerchief.

The choice of design is all yours. You can print, embroider, felt, three-dimensional processing, write or use appliqué to create your bespoke handkerchief. Let your hands speak and transform your feelings, thoughts or wishes into mini textile stories.

And maybe in the future, we will even have a chance to see the original works as I have already been offered a potential location for an exhibition.

„cuando trabajas con las manos, mantienes la cabeza despejada“ – yo creo en esto. En estos tiempos difíciles de aislamiento, inseguridad e incertidumbre, el sentido de comunidad es importante.

Estar juntos en nuestro quehacer y compartir esa necesidad que sentimos de usar nuestras manos. Que ellas expresen y „hablen“, cosiendo, estampando, bordando, escribiendo, aplicando, uniendo o deshaciendo, en cualquier técnica personal.

Por esta razón, me gustaría invitar a todos aquellos que estén interesados a participar en este proyecto que he comenzado en Uruguay.

De base, usamos un pañuelo nuestro o de nuestra madre, abuela, padre o compañero y, si no tenemos uno, usamos una tela de aproximadamente 30×30 (35×35) cm que transmita la idea de un pañuelo.

El diseño es completamente individual: impresión, bordado, fieltro, escritura, aplicación, intervenciones tres dimensionales
deja que tus manos hablen para transformar sentimientos, pensamientos o deseos en pequeñas historias textiles.
